100 Days In Office …
The first 100 days of Donald Trump’s second presidency are in the history books. For the effort, public opinion polls show the 47th president of the United States is the second least popular commander-in-chief in 80 years. The most unpopular president at 100 days into his term? Donald Trump the 45th president of the United States.
The White House contends that Mr. Trump’s first 100 days are the most consequential of any presidential administration. Arguably, Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s first 100 days during the Great Depression were the most consequential, given that his actions entailed significant law changes, not legally dubious executive actions.
But this is certain: Mr. Trump’s first 100 days were marked by significant domestic and international controversies, unnerving economic uncertainties, and troubling challenges to the United States Constitution and democratic norms, with tepid to no congressional oversight.
Like many Americans, Thomas has been anxiously watching – and we mean anxiously with much anxiety – how Mr. Trump would approach his second tour at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. The successes, failures, and nuttiness have been on full display, making for what the former Apprentice host calls “good television.”
